Strengths and Weaknesses: this book chronicles the rise and falls of the Plantagenet kings very vividly, shedding light on specific decisive events in their lives while still lucidly painting the “big picture” of 245 years. It highlights the most pivotal and epochal events in English history, such as the creation of the Magna Carta “the Great Charter of the Liberties”, the Hundred Years’ War, the Crusades, and the Black Death. Synopsis: Beginning with the death of Henry I’s son and heir William Adelin and concluding with the deposition of Richard II, Jones chronicles the entire 245 years of the Plantagenets’ reign.
